Hold your excitement. . . Dishtowels

Dear readers,

Between ruining my waistband on my pants and finally fixing it - I was sew restless!  So, what did I do - bought some Moda by United Notions (5.49 yard) dishtowel fabric from a local store and made gifts!

I also made two pillowcases (no pictures but similar to previous pillowcases). . .one tool bag for knitting (a later post), blind-hemmed suit pants (super easy with my blind hemming foot) and tailored an anthropologies dress to fit better (lots of ripping).
I had a difficult time finishing the dish towels, I tried my binder foot, my roll foot, my hemmer - nothing worked exceed good old fashioned folding and top stitching. . . so not perfect - but my first try.
I've decided to do the Colette Anise Sew-Along.  I am getting my tailoring tools today or this weekend from B. Black and Sons, Shoulder pads, sleeve heads. . . I'll set up a post so you can follow along - I expect plenty of disasters!!

This will probably be my last bit of winter sewing - and after this - I'm onto the Spring?  Has anyone ventured into Spring sewing yet?

P.

I didn't know that either! Was knitting them not fast enough for you? Ha! I'm still trying to finish my winter sweater - haven't started on the other sleeve. I guess that'll wait till next year to get worn. Congrats on having the kohones to do a tailoring sew-along!

I have to go to that fabric store this afternoon - I'll find out who makes them - they had quite a few different ones to chose from .. ..I was surprised as well! A lot more cost effective I must admit.

Yes, I'm getting out of the winter sewing mode. BTW, I may be derailed - my kelly green wool fabric may not be enough to participate in the sew-along - I only have 1 yard and 3/4. Darn it. So, I'd like to do it but don't want to invest in more fabric right now for a jacket that will only be worn a month or two . . . I have to think about it - there is some extremely beautiful wool fabric (light blue boucle) that Mood has - but it's 35-49 dollars a yard. . . I have to think about it.

Yes, Judith - I'm glad you asked - it's Moda Fabrics by United Notions - and the towel fabric available online widely. I'll amend my post!
