Kwik Sew 3115 Yoga Pants

Yes, I joined the multitude of others making the famed Kwik Sew 3115 pants, using my black Polartec 200 fabric (which had the necessary stretch needed using the test on the back of the pattern envelope).

This pattern - Kwik Sew 3115, a well-known and much-loved pattern, is highly reviewed on Pattern Review.  I needed another quick sewing fix so I decided to use my comfy Polartec 200 fabric on the pattern.
Yes, it did take only 2 hours.  Hurray!  Did it turn out wonderful the first time with no muslin?

Actually, no.  But I really like the pants.  I will post a pattern review later this week.  I do think this pattern (as suggested on the envelope)  is more suited toward a jersey knit than my selected Polartec fabric.

Readers, these are my future necessary alterations:  cut the pants an inch or two longer; cut a deeper back crotch seam in the back of the pant - they seem a bit shallow in the rise and consequently, the fit.  I also discovered that the pants are a bit too low rise because of what I think is a shallow inseam in the back area (a deeper "scoop" is needed).  Next time, I will not (hopefully) have to add a corded drawstring (as you see in the picture) because of:  (1) incorrect fabric choice; and (2) incorrect elastic choice (1" elastic from my stash instead of the 3/8" elastic that the directions called for).

I did make an medium and that seems very accurate.  Will I make again?  Definitely.  Even though they are not perfect - they are perfectly comfy and I wore them today to dog training class!

P.S.  I do not do Yoga. Ever.  I have failed at the art of yoga.  However, I really like the idea of yoga, associated "yoga" clothes, yoga studios and people that do yoga.  Let's just say I'm not very "stretchy" and leave it at that, readers.

Cute!! They look perfect for a lazy, just hangin' out day. Makes me want to curl up on the couch with a book!

Oooh great pants. When I saw the picture I thought "do I have to take up yoga before I can make some pants like that?" then I read your P.S. These pants look like just what I need for sitting around doing nothing. Excellent job!
